Callune Bruyère commune Calluna vulgaris
General
Callune (celluna vulgaris) is a perennial plant sometimes called Beruée, Brande Common heather, Bucane, False Heather, Big Brande, Péterolle or Heather callune. The Callune (Calluna vulgaris) of the family Ericaceae is the only representative of the genus calluna. The Callune is a perennial subshrub from 20 to 50 cm height (rarely 1 m). It is found in Asia Minor, Europe, Russia and North America mainly in pine forests and peatlands. Its name « Calluna » means « to adorn, adorn, embellish ». Her English name« heather » became an Anglo-Saxon first name. La calluna vulgaris was considered a magical plant associated with white magic. In the Breton moors, she keeps the spirits away from the ghosts. In Scotland, if a young girl finds a sprig of white heather, she is sure to get married within a year. The callune is the national flower of Norway. (Wikipedia)

heather pipes)
, jewelry, fountain pens and knife handles. With the genus cellula vulgaris, it is made into a honey with a strong characteristic flavor and unusual texture.
Its phytonutrients and vitamins
Caluna vulgaris shoots contain the following phenolic compounds: chlorogenic acid, 3-0 glucoside, 3-O-galactoside and 3-O-arabinoside.
Its medicinal virtues
Heather is a diuretic, urogenital antiseptic, sternutatory and depurative. Heather is used to treat cystitis. Its external use reduces rheumatism and frostbite. It is also recommended to treat osteo-articular disorders, gout and inflammatory syndromes. It facilitates the elimination of kidney stones and helps fight uremia and albuminuria. It acts as a decongestant on the prostate. Heather honey has the same properties as flowers.
Its sexual virtues
The cavernous bodies of the penis and clitoris are a small spongy ball of very small nerves surrounded by blood vessels. In men, the cavernous body is located in the penis from its base (much like an inner tube). In women, it surrounds the clitoris. During sexual periods, it becomes engorged with blood and becomes active. Its stimulation depends on the relaxation of the genital muscles. Nitric oxide (NO) and its metabolite cyclic GMP directly influences the erectile mechanism in both men and women. In men its action leads to the relaxation of the smooth muscles of the penis, which has the effect of facilitating the passage of blood from the penile veins and leading to swelling of the penis. The more marked the presence of cGMP, the longer lasting and stronger the erection will be. In women a similar but less strong phenomenon occurs in the clitoris.
Some fruits and vegetables such as spinach, beetroot, artichoke and oats and heather have a very high concentration of nitrate. Nitrate is extracted by the salivary glands, and partially transformed in saliva into nitrite, then into nitric oxide (NO) in the stomach (due to its acidity).
It is presented in various forms: decoctions, infusions, capsules, ampoules, tablets, mother tincture, herbal teas and honey.
